There are certain sites I trust for info, reviews and screen captures, as I have never heard of that site before I cannot say much :)

But at least someone has it in their hands.

Maybe not the most reliable site for checking reviews I think.
He gave DARK CITY a video rating of 10/10  :?
Is he blind??  Some scenes are really bad, and overall I would say no more than 7 / 10 for Dark City.

:?  Wow I did not notice that! Dark City for me is unmarkable, but not even a 7 from me, the noise reductions ruined the transfer so badly its a very, very low mark from me.

At least know his review of Kill Bill is now in question.

Well I would say its a hard thing :) I try to follow some people on forums, some people sadly dont have their own sites, yet they know everything and seem to know exactly what they are looking at picture wise :)

For instanace many people who acctually work on transfers etc.. are on

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=150

and while they may go too deep into detail we will never see, many members on there know everything and see things as some have screens so large and set ups costing so much they are the people to spot them niggles :) sadly the forum is also frequented by many more normal people like you and me, and sadly some of them are not experts and maybe dont have an eye for seeing things.

Problem is many sites have multiple reviewers and some may not spot things as good as other reviewers can, as I have seen even superb sites give dodgy transfers very high marks becuase on their set up they couldnt see something.

I am sure you have seen this site

http://whiggles.landofwhimsy.com/

but it is ran by one guy, and he is very good at what he does, and he backs up his opinions well with evidence in the form of screen captures.

I like sites who do the screen capture thing as frankly they proove what they can see for us all to see, its a shame more cannot grab good screen caps (some have the settings wrong and capture the disc badly).

I will have a preek thru my bookmarks and see where I vist more.

Cheers for the links. But umm, I guess one needs a BD-ROM to be able to capture the screens? :)

Yes, unfortunately,he's a pretentious arse,(my how we love reading about crap BBC dramas and naff PC games), with no sense of humour. Did you read that Doomsday review? His brother seems to be an equally pretentious arse, given the nonsense he posts under his Lyris alias. Yes, I'm an evil sod!

*Nice to have myself quoted myself quoted on said website, I'd hate to have said anything really insulting... :megatantrum:
I agree with his Dark City comments, though.*

:ordered:

www.highdefdiscnews.com has picture packaging on their review pages. Could be a dual sided cover sleeve?

Looks like it which is awesome since the yellow and red covers suck.

I like the yellow and red covers, but if they're flipable, I'll use the other sleeve, which looks like the teaser posters :D

They are not reversible sleeves. There is artwork under the disc holder, but not the other side. Chapter listing. I wondered this myself and asked Justin at High Def Disc News, he confirmed the lack of a reversible option. Drat!  :doubt:

Not sure what you mean by nonsense?  :?

That said, if "Doomsday" is the yard-stick for measuring pretentiousness, then compliment taken!  :D
