Just ordered the modified Panasonic DMP-BD30 from stegen.com. It should be regions A/B for Blu-ray and regionfree for DVD. I will let you know how it works once it arrives.

Please do that.  I'm very interested to find out just how well this works.  What did you pay extra by the way?

VERY interesting!  Can the mod be added to an existing player?  Is it expensive??

I think there's a list of compatible players..

http://www.dvdirect.net/

Click on Blu-Ray I.C.O.S Mod kit at your lower left bottom..

Looks like only 3 players.. or maybe you can use the mod on any bd.. Tbh, I don't know since I never had any interest for that. Recently got into BD and I'm happy with my region b PS3. :)

Surely there's some company in UK who specializes in this time of stuff (modifying xbox, playstation, dvds...) Check with them.

It certainly wasn't cheap, €699 + €30 shipping. Haven't found another company though that would do the mod for this player.

I've got the LG-BH200 on order, it plays region A/B/C Blu-rays (you just have to switch some Hex Code according to the region), HD-DVDs (1080p) & is region free to DVDs. The hardware solutions of other players seemed a bit too risky to me..

469$ at cursuitcity.com - A         acquaintance's father works for the US Army here in Germany so it was sent to the APO Box without taxes. But they don't ship to regular international addresses.
If you don't have this possibility you can order it @ TigerDirect.com
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... C-CNETFEED
It's 499$ + 70$ shipping (I called them and askes for the shipping costs, I live in Germany so they should be the same to the UK) you can pay there via wire transfer.

Here is the AVSForum Thread for the region free hack:

Just received the modified DMP-BD30. Region A movie Man On Fire started playing without problems and for the first time I got to see the DTS-HD Master light up on the receiver display :oohyeah:
